Today was a great day. I slept until 10! 10! Ate eggs with my husband, snuggled my cats, savored my morning coffee and then headed outside for an afternoon run.
My wussy half marathon plan had a long run of 4 miles on the schedule. 4! Sheesh this time last year I didn't lace up for less than 5 miles. Oh how the times have changed.
The first 2 miles were great! A little hairy with the snow, mud and ice on the trail, but it was kind of exhilarating. Yeah sure, it slowed me down and running in snow felt a little more tiring, but who cares?? I'm out there! Living life! Chasing down my happiness one mile at a time!
|5, I'm doing 5!|
I decided to throw an extra mile on it and oy. As soon as I decided to add another mile, I hit some real crappy terrain. A thorn branch swiped me, I was tired and damnnn carrying these extra lbs weren't doing me any favors.
Now, if that isn't incentive to put the cookie down, I don't know what is. So, I run/walked the last mile, tried to have some positive self dialogue and get it done.
|Truthfully, I hate posting anything above 10/min mile, but it is what it is. |
Own it and when it gets faster, I'll own that shit too!
Lost 3 lbs! Sheesh even after some Girl Scout cookies yesterday. Eff you girl scouts! With your pigtails and your missing front teeth. I thought soliciting was illegal at the mall.
I hope you all had a great weekend too.
How did you chase down your happiness?
