After my freakin' awesome blogger meet-up, race, lasagna fest with Kim and Rachel... I went to visit my oldest friend.
Oldest friends are kind of a big deal to me and probably because Jordan is really the only one. We've been friends since 7th grade. Do the math, that is ummm 14 years. Whoa.
Anyway, we don't do a great job of keeping in touch. In fact, I hadn't seen him in two years, but there is still some familiarity and comfort there when we do get to see each other. Maybe it is just the feeling of shared history, a time when we knew each other before we knew our partners and our adult lives.
Do you have an oldest friend?
What do you think holds people together through different paths?
xo,

Your pictures are beautiful! It's nice to catch up with old friends. I think that regardless of where you are in life, if you have a special connection with someone it's hard to let that go. :)
ReplyDeleteI have several friends that I have know since kindergarten and though we don't always keep up with each other very well, when we do get together once a year or so it is comfortable, fun and just like old times.
ReplyDeleteLove the scenery, beautiful.
My oldest friend lives in FL now, but I still see her once a year or so.. We became friends in 1993, so in 2013 I think we're going to have a 20th anniversary weekend extravaganza. (Hopefully in FL, because I need to get my pale ass outta WI).
ReplyDeleteOne of my oldest friends, Beth, I still see a couple times a year. We are also not very great at keeping in touch but when we get together you would think we see each other everyday...we just 'click'.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad falling out with another of my oldest friends. I have tried several times to make amends, but it just never takes. We are just too different now and it's sad but that's a life lesson, I guess.
Oh I forgot to say how happy I am that you got to go to Devil's Lake. I am so in love with that place!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! I have a couple old dear friends.. I see them once a year if that when I make a trip back home to MA.. It's always nice seeing them, it's as if no time has passed between our visits..
ReplyDeletethis trip seriously sounds amazing and i am so glad you had a blast. i have some friends that i literally NEVER talk to but when I see them its like no time has ever passed. it is the weirdest thing. love the pics!
